“Doing life over every hour is a must for successful parenting. Finding the comedy to Do Over it over every minute is must for living.”
- Luis Moro

Luis was Nominated Best Actor at The American Black Film Festival for his role as Alberto in the history making film "Love & Suicide".  He also received Independent Spirit Award nominations for his writing and producing the multiple award winning film "Anne B. Real".  Luis is also co-writer of the three main Hip-Hop lyrics and diary entries performed by the lead character of Cynthia.

Luis acclaimed films include "The Unseen", a drama shot in Atlanta Georgia. The history making romance, "Cuba’s Love and Suicide", set in Havana, Cuba and New York plus the comedy "Venus & Vegas", shot in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Luis is the co-producer on two award winning films, "Roll With me", currently winning awards in the film festival circuit; and "Where We Begin", which garnered many national and international awards.  His current slate of films ranges from the true Native American story "Whispers Like Thunder" to the comedy "The God Brother".

He began his writing career while in the real estate mortgage business by creating, writing and hosting the first ever Latin-American real estate and travel television show "Real Estate America" which aired on Univision.

Luis is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he lettered and received NCAA award for football.   He can be seen in small acting roles in various film, including "Siege", the (1998) "King of the Ants" and his debut supporting role in "Cuba’s Love & Suicide".

His biggest accomplishment is creating entertainment content that empowers people and that make a difference to society.

Maxima Alerta was one of Cuba’s best known and loved fusion bands.  The group has moved to the US and it is now based in the NYC area.  It is known for its fusion of Cuban Music and other genres forming a fresh hip sound.  From son cubano to conga, from cumbia to merengue, from rap to ballads… all with a fresh modern sound taunting audiences on their feet to dance and have a good time.

The group became a local favorite, and for four years Ray worked hard to develop their unique sound and build a following.  In 2003 Máxima Alerta exploded on the national scene, hitting radio and television stations with two songs, “Echar pa’ lante” and “Adegüello 1895” which very quickly became popular throughout the country. Thanks to these successes, in 2004 they delivered their new album “Llegaron los Alertas”, recorded at Abdala Studios owned by renowned singer/composer Silvio Rodriguez with the French company Lusafrica, and joining their catalog and sharing the stage with popular groups such as La Orquesta Aragón, Polo Montañez, Anacaona, Isaac Delgado, Osdalgia, among others.

In 2005 Máxima Alerta was nominated to Cubadisco as “Best Album Rap, Dance and Hip Hop” which garnered the group great popularity both nationally and internationally, as well as topping the charts. Later in 2009 the group returned to the top of the charts with the song "La Figura" (“Ay Lola”) recorded with the multi-award winning and internationally renowned group Gente de Zona.

Later in 2011, they released the CD “Alertas para Todos”, recorded and produced by Nando Pro in Havana, Cuba. This is an album containing fourteen tracks, of which six featured special guests: Yulien Oviedo and Dantes (Charanga Habanera); Alexander Delgado y Randy Marcos (Gente de Zona); Sisto Llorente "El Indio" (Orquesta Aragón); Los Cuatro; and Alain Daniel and Ramón Lavado (El Chacal). The CD also features a song dedicated to one of the greatest Cuban baseball players, Victor Mesa.

After enjoying much success in Cuba, the group resettled in the United States, where they recorded a new production. In October 2015, Maxima Alerta was reborn in the US performing in two SOLD OUT concerts in New York City with legendary merengue singer Fernandito Villalona.  In 2016, Maxima Alerta released its new song "Vive la Vida" with an accompanying music video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9YEtBVjltIc

Subsequently the group had a SOLD OUT concert at the legendary Maxwell’s in Hoboken;  a SOLD OUT concert with bachata super star Anthony Santos at the historic 1,500 seat Park Performing Arts Center; a SOLD OUT concert with Los Van Van at the Infinity Yacht, and has performed at many large outdoor venues including the Cuban Parade Of New Jersey.  Most recently, the group also released a new single “Que Viva USA”.

NoHu presents AMELUK

AMELUK by Mimmo Mancini

USA Premiere in Union City

(Union City, NJ)  The City of Union City, Mayor Brian P. Stack and Board of Commissioners in conjunction with the NoHu International Film Festival present the USA Premiere of the feature film AMELUK by renowned Italian actor, director, writer, producer Mimmo Mancini on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Union City Performing Arts Center, 2500 Kennedy Boulevard, Union City.  Mimmo Mancini is one of the most highly-regarded and respected of filmmakers from Italy.  The event will be moderated by Hudson County filmmaker Frank Gigante.  Q & A and reception following the screening.  Free Admission.  Parking available at the 23rd Street parking deck located between Summit and Kerrigan Avenues.

“Ameluk”
The story of a small town Muslim who happens to bear the cross… of reconciling Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.

Ameluk is a dramatic comedy about Italy’s internal struggle with immigration and social integration.  The movie deals primarily with religious issues through the eyes and the life of the characters, but, as customary in Italy, the conversation inevitably assumes political undertones.  The story is a light comedy punctured at times by dramatic moments born out of the depth of the issues and the stories of characters looking for an identity and a sense of belonging.

Ameluk is an ensemble film that deals with modern days Italians.  Jusuf’s participation to the staging of the “Stations of the Cross” brings to light the conflicts and taboos of Mariotto’s residents, which are also the same issues and concerns of many Italians: the co-existence of the Catholic faith with other faiths, the political turmoil, the search for instant notoriety, immigration.  In the background, a small town, which represents with its characteristics and common places - the church, the square, and the local café – the Italy of today.

Ameluk is also the personal story of an immigrant who tries to build a life for himself in a new country.  The movie talks about Jusuf’s efforts, loves, hopes, and attempts to resolve the disparity between a difficult past and a complex present, between the culture he left behind and the one he embraces at present.  In a situation bigger than he is, Jusuf will become the needle of the scale.

Brief Biography Mimmo Mancini:
Born in Bitonto (Bari) on May 18, 1960.

At seventeen he attends a professional acting course at the Piccolo Theatre in Bari and starts playing with local companies.  In 1984, he performs nationally in “The Merry Wives of Windsor” with Carlo Hintermann and Bianca Toccafondi, directed by Nucci La Dogana. After some cabaret, radio and TV experiences, he moves to Rome where he attends a specialized course for actors with Dominic De Fazio, member of the Actors Studio, and studies with him “cinema analysis”. He writes and stars in, along with Paolo De Vita, two theatre pieces: “ Non venite mangiati” and “Vi faremo sapere”. In Rome, “Non venite mangiati” opens at Trastevere Theatre in 1990 and is later presented at Teatro dei Satiri. More than one hundred performances are given throughout Italy. “Vi faremo sapere” opens in 1992 at Teatro dei Satiri and is later staged at Teatro Argot in Rome. “Sargassi”, a monologue written in collaboration with Vasco Mirandola, kicks off at Teatro Colosseo in Rome in 1995.
